Tax Intern (80 - 100%)

Job description

  • Your mission at Climeworks is to support the preparation, reconciliation, review, and filing of all VAT, EU Intrastat, and recapitulative statements. Additionally, you will assist with sales tax and withholding tax declarations.
  • You assist in preparing data sets for corporate income tax returns prepared by external service providers, reviewing those tax returns prior to submission, along with any return-to-provision reconciliation.
  • You prepare stamp duty filings and provide support for tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • You procure tax residency certificates and file tax exemption declarations.
  • You prepare calculations of tax payments and review final tax assessments.
  • You provide direct and indirect tax input on drafting contractual terms and conditions, ensuring that vendor and sales invoice requirements are compliant.
  • You keep up to date with direct and indirect tax compliance developments affecting all group entities.
  • You support the preparation of the transfer pricing policy and assist Legal with drafting the corresponding intercompany agreements.
  • You aid Supply Chain & Procurement in identifying and managing documentation as well as mitigating customs duties and risks.
  • You provide a four-eye review of customs compliance processes.

Job requirements

  • You have an HF diploma, Bachelor’s, or master's degree in business administration or economics, preferably with a specialization in taxation. Additional tax-specific qualifications, particularly in EU VAT and transfer pricing, are nice to have.
  • You have an understanding of different types of taxes (income tax, VAT, corporate tax, etc.) and their application.
  • You have foundational knowledge in national and international tax law.
  • You have familiarity with VAT principles, compliance, and reporting requirements, including cross-border transactions, and a good understanding of EU VAT law is a nice to have.
  • You have a basic understanding of transfer pricing regulations, intercompany transactions, and documentation requirements, and experience with transfer pricing is a nice to have.
  • You have the ability to drive new topics independently, possess good analytical skills, and demonstrate an open and flexible manner.
  • You are fluent in English (business language), with German being an advantage and other languages a plus.
