Job description
Sourcing & Supplier Management: You manage suppliers end-to-end from initial reach-out to contract closure and build ongoing relationships.
Portfolio & Delivery Oversight: You manage supplier touchpoints and address issues to ensure timely, accurate delivery of carbon removal credits to customers, and pro-actively identify impact of individual suppliers on portfolio strategy.
Forecasting & Matching: You maintain transparency across teams on supply inventory and demand forecasts; oversee matching of supply and demand based on dynamic customer needs and portfolio strategy.
Margin & Risk Management: You ensure accurate margin calculations, implement safeguards, and model key business risks to drive informed decision-making.
Financial & Tech Integration: You collaborate with finance on planning/reporting, and define sourcing process needs for software integration.
Strategic Projects: You drive cross-functional initiatives, especially in nature-based solutions and operational improvements and innovate on business models.
Market Intelligence: You build a structured market and competitive intelligence process to unlock strategic insights for sourcing and commercial GTM.
Job requirements
Education & Experience: You hold a university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Economics), possess 2–4 years of experience in fast-paced, analytical roles (e.g., consulting, banking, VC, startups) and are familiar with nature-based carbon projects.
Deal Sourcing: You bring experience in deal sourcing, with a basic understanding of partnership development, contract negotiation, and voluntary carbon markets (VCM).
Strategic & Analytical Thinking: You have a strong strategic mindset with sharp analytical skills; coding and project finance knowledge is a strong plus.
Project & Stakeholder Management: You have proven project management skills and experience in senior stakeholder management.
Attention to Detail: You have a high level of accuracy and diligence in managing data and financial processes.
Team Player: You collaborate effectively and communicate confidently in English with senior internal and external stakeholders, and actively contribute to the growth of Climeworks' partnerships and network.

Salary: At Climeworks, salary ranges are assigned to a job based on the level of seniority and the location specific market median of similar jobs according to external benchmark surveys. Individual compensation depends on your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the team.

This position is based in Opfikon, Zurich, and we ask that you work onsite at least three days per week.
