Job description
End-to-End Ownership: You take ownership of a real, end-to-end project, from understanding operational needs to delivering a standardized, scalable alerting framework.
Stakeholder Needs: You engage with different teams to identify critical monitoring requirements and analyzing which events truly require alerting versus noise reduction.
Grafana Alerting: You build and configure alerts in Grafana based on data from PostgreSQL, defining thresholds, triggers, and escalation logic.
Cross-Team Alignment: You collaborate across facilities and backbone teams to drive consistency and harmonization of monitoring approaches.
Alert Communication: You create and organize Microsoft Teams alert channels aligned with the right audience and ensure alerts reach the appropriate stakeholders at the right time.
Standardization: You develop consistent naming conventions and alert phrasing, ensuring clarity, usability, and actionable messaging.
Data & Queries: You write and optimize SQL queries for alerting logic and work with data pipelines feeding Grafana dashboards.
Job requirements
Educational Background: You are pursuing or have recently completed (within the last year) a BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or a related field.
Technical Foundation: You have basic knowledge of SQL and data analysis and are highly interested in observability, monitoring, or infrastructure systems.
Collaboration & Communication: You have good communication skills and are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders.
Adaptability & Creativity: You demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and creativity, especially when working with unknown or incomplete information.
Working Style & Ownership: You are reliable, performance-driven, maintain a structured way of working, and are proactive in driving topics independently.
Teamwork & Independence: You thrive in fast-paced team environments and are equally effective when working independently.
Language Skills: You are fluent in English; German is an advantage.
Availability: You are available for a full-time 6-month internship, ideally starting in September 2026.

What we offer:
At Climeworks, our six-month internships offer a hybrid work setup, giving you flexibility while ensuring valuable collaboration by working onsite at least three days per week. To maintain fairness, we follow a standardized salary process based on market benchmarks. For our internships based in Switzerland, the compensation is:
During BSc & MSc: CHF 2,000 per month
After completion of MSc: CHF 2,500 per month
