Job description

  • Model Validation & Performance Analysis: You support model validation and performance scale‑up activities by analyzing field and test data, comparing results against models, and feeding insights back to R&D. 

 

  • KPI Definition & Data Quality Management: You define relevant KPIs for model validation and performance assessment, ensure data quality of critical input parameters, and contribute to consistent reporting standards. 

 

  • Sorbent & Technology Evaluation: You assess the performance of new sorbent materials under process‑relevant conditions and support fundamentals workstreams related to emerging DAC technologies. 

 

  • Process Optimization & Sensitivity Studies: You conduct sensitivity analyses using internal optimization tools and support both test campaigns using Climeworks testing infrastructure and data analysis from operational plants. 

Job requirements

  • Technical Background: You are pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical, process, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent). 

 

  • Skills & Toolset: You bring experience in MATLAB; additional programming skills such as Python are a plus. 

 

  • Working Style: You work reliably and independently, stay structured under pressure, and thrive in dynamic team environments.  

 

  • Communication: You are fluent in English, German skills are a plus.

What we offer:

At Climeworks, our six-month internships offer a hybrid work setup, giving you flexibility while ensuring valuable collaboration by working onsite at least three days per week. To maintain fairness, we follow a standardized salary process based on market benchmarks. For our internships based in Switzerland, the compensation is:

  • During BSc & MSc: CHF 2,000 per month

  • After completion of MSc: CHF 2,500 per month
