Job description
HSSE Process Development: You will play a key role in shaping and optimizing Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) processes and workflows. Your work will help ensure our operations meet the highest standards and comply with international norms such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
Compliance & Audits: You will support the maintenance and continuous improvement of our HSSE management systems. This includes coordinating internal audits, compliance checks, and corrective actions to keep our operations safe and sustainable.
Data & Reporting: You will contribute to collecting and analyzing safety and environmental data, preparing KPI reports for management, and ensuring transparent communication of HSSE performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work closely with teams across Switzerland, Iceland, Germany, and other jurisdictions to align our practices with legal requirements and company standards.
Training & Communication: You will assist in preparing training materials and communicating HSSE policies to foster a strong safety culture within Climeworks.
Incident Management: You will participate in incident reporting and investigation processes under supervision, helping us learn and continuously improve.
Job requirements
Educational Background: You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical / Process Engineering or a similar field.
HSSE Knowledge & Interest: You have a strong interest in HSSE, compliance, and process improvement, and you’re eager to gain hands-on experience in a global organization committed to climate-positive technology.
Organizational & Analytical Skills: You bring excellent organizational abilities and a sharp analytical mindset, ready to contribute to a dynamic and growing industry.
Digital & Technical Skills: You are proficient in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Forms, and Lists); familiarity with ISO standards and HSE regulations is an advantage and basic programming skills are a plus.
Language & Adaptability: You are fluent in English (German or Icelandic is a plus) and thrive in a flexible, international environment that values collaboration, positivity, and humor - while giving you plenty of brag-worthy moments to share with friends.

Availability: You are available for a 6-month internship with a start date preferably in February 2026 or shortly thereafter.

What we offer:
At Climeworks, our six-month internships offer a hybrid work setup, giving you flexibility while ensuring valuable collaboration by working onsite at least three days per week. To maintain fairness, we follow a standardized salary process based on market benchmarks. For our internships based in Switzerland, the compensation is:
During BSc & MSc: CHF 2,000 per month
After completion of MSc: CHF 2,500 per month
