Intern in Data Analytics (100%)

    • Opfikon, Zurich, Switzerland
  • Operations

Job description

  • Operations Development: You will play an important role in defining how to operate the largest Direct Air Capture plants in the world in the most efficient way. You will build data products that derive insights from real time plant and business operations – all part of making Climeworks technology more scalable.

  • Data Analytics: You will develop and maintain Python scripts for processing sensor data from our production plants and business process data from our ERP system. You will also write SQL queries to support database management and transform data for reporting. Your role will be responsible for building user-facing dashboards that enable Climeworks to maximize our carbon removal.

  • Collaboration with Business Partners: You will work closely with colleagues in Production Engineering or Business Finance (depending on background). Your role will be to understand their engineering requirements for plant operation (or financial excellence) and translate them into data analytics that deliver insights and drive actions.

  • Collaboration with Data Engineering: You will collaborate with the data engineering team (seeking advise and code reviews) to deploy your data pipelines to our data platform. You will learn how to write code in a production environment and how to build scalable solutions.

  • Communication & Presentation: You will communicate results, findings, and observations clearly and concisely to peers, and present them in technical reviews. You will serve as a collaborator and advisor on data projects aimed at process optimization and operational development, and contribute to strategic initiatives to scale DAC technology.

Job requirements

  • Educational background & Experience: You are currently enrolled in or have recently completed a master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or Computer Science – preferably with a focus on data science / data analysis. Experience with process engineering, thermodynamics and/or a basis in corporate management will be a plus.

  • Technical Proficiency: Python programming (data analysis, automation, or scripting). SQL for database queries (alternatively, R is acceptable). Familiarity with Git is a plus.

  • Working Style: You are proactive, innovative, and collaborative. You can work across disciplines and support others in their activities. You are looking for a challenge, and are not afraid of taking risks and trying out new things.

  • Language: English is the working language at Climeworks – no other language skills are required.

  • Availability: You are available for a 6-month internship with a start date preferably in February 2026 or shortly thereafter.

Our promise: At Climeworks, you are accepted for who you are, and we are committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.
